16 Years Kid Arrested For Phishing Teachers Change The Grades: A 16 years old high school student who was arrested on 14th May 2018 in California for conducting a phishing schema against his teachers.
The efforts from the Local Law Enforcement and Contra Costa Country Task Force and the Secret Led the arrest for this teenager.
David Rotaro is a student at Ygnacio Valley High School in the San Francisco Bay Area and is currently being accused of sending various emails to teacher by tricking them into a clicking a link so that it take them redirect to the fake page he had build for school official teachers portal.
This boy allegedly stole the teacher’s credentials to access the school grading system to change his grades and his friends and even he lowered the grades of some other students.
When the teacher has reported this sort of incident in the school the police traced the IP of this boy to his house. Carl Cruz, the Concord Police Financial Crimes Supervisor. “We belive 10 to 15 students grades were altered, but we are still investigating further”.
ABC7 News The teen told the news reporter that hacking into the school grading system was actually like a stealing the candy from a baby it just took 5 minutes to create a fake page and then to send out a phishing email.
“He was charged with crimes for ranging to have unauthorized use of entering the network to personal information,” Rotaro Says, “I did kind of want to give the awareness to cyber security”.
